Farm to School Resources Hub!

Check out the recent post from Olivia Wittemore, Hawai‘i Farm to School Hui Special Projects Coordinator, which highlights the new SEARCHABLE resource hub for all things related to Hawaii School Gardens!

“There are a lot of great resources that already exist that can help you achieve your Farm to School goals. However, finding information directly from a Google Search can get quite overwhelming.

That’s why we created the Farm to School Hui Resources Hub website . In it, you’ll find pages about the topics you care about most such as:

  • Farm to School Legislation & Policy

  • Professional Development Courses

  • Starting a School Garden

  • School Garden Curriculum Ideas

  • And more!

Today, we’re going to share a bit more about the different pages on our website so you can find more information faster and easier.

Start on Our Homepage

On our homepage, you’ll find images directly linked to their corresponding pages. These pages offer more information about all kinds of topics. These main topics are a great place to start if you’re an educator, parent, or just interested in Farm to School programming.

Learn more about Policy and Legislation

We created this page to make it easy for you to get educated on what’s going on in your local government concerning Farm to School policies. In this page you can learn about how to get involved with growing Farm to School Policy initiatives (pun intended).

Learning at Home

Anyone can learn more about local food, farming, starting a garden, protecting indigenous species, and making delicious healthy foods. Our Learning at Home page offers tons of links to recipes, how-tos, tools, and books to help you get started. We loved creating this page because it offers awesome ways for the whole family to get involved and spend more quality time together in the garden or kitchen.

Professional Development Courses

We made this page for educators and Farm to School practitioners who want to continue learning how to best teach youth about food, gardening, and sustainability, within a Hawaii place based framework.  We’re part way through Summer 2022 courses at the time of this post going live, but  this page is updated regularly with great F2S related PD happening throughout Hawaii all year long.”
