Mālaʻai Art Club- 3rd Quarter

Helen Takata-Naho’opi’i, a talented local fiber artist, has helped our students create amazing art pieces in our Art in the Garden after school program. With the popularity growing, this quarter we welcomed a new group of students into the art club. This new group of students has taken a great liking to creating artwork and many have been able to express their extremely creative sides through their artwork. Many of the students take home artwork for friends or family. These art courses are also great learning opportunities for the students to be educated on how art can be used to create an entrepreneurial career.

They have learned to create pressed glass frames with flowers on the inside, how to use natural roots to make dyes as well as binding books. Please enjoy these wonderful photos of our Art in the Garden after school program.
