Mālaʻai Legume Hummus

Use any kind of beans or seeds you have grown in your garden. We have used fMālaʻai pigeon peas as well canned black beans and garbanzo beans. Variety is the flavor of life!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cooked Legumes 

  • 1/2 cup legume cooking water

  • 1/2 cup tahini (optional)

  • 1 large garlic clove

  • 1/2cup cooked Mala’ai carrots

  • 1/2 a lemon or lime juiced

  • 1/3cup of olive oil 

  • 1/2tsp cumin powder 

  • 1/4cup chopped herbs (optional)

  • 1tsp curry powder (optional)

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed. You can use a bicycle blender which requires no electricity but rather mechanical energy and its super fun!

Place a 1/4 cup in a lettuce or cabbage leaf for a healthy snack l! Or serve with alcoves vegetables and organic chips! Enjoy!
