We will be hosting a community volunteer workday at the garden as we welcome in the Holiday season and prepare the garden for Winter Break.
If you are able, please join the Mālaʻai 'ohana on
Saturday, December 14th, 2024; 9am @ Waimea Middle School!
**We have community workdays on the 2nd Saturday in even months. If you can't make this one join us for one of these future Community Workdays in the upcoming New Year, 2025!
Saturdays- April 12th and June 14th
(Saturday, February 8th we will be celebrating 30 years of the Makali‘i at Kawaihae, save the date!)
Because of safety restrictions and to best prepare for our workdays, please RSVP at least 48 hours before the event.
Families welcome!
Our workdays start at 9:00am and go till about Noon. We always provide a light lunch and snacks for volunteers (feel free to bring something to share!). We also provide water and usually a garden fresh tea or beverage. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies please let us know.
Appropriate clothing would be something comfortable that can get dirty or stained. We recommend long sleeves and long pants because it can be very sunny in the garden. A hat is always recommended as are closed-toe shoes. We provide gloves, but if you have your own pair feel free to bring them.
If you intend to join us for the workday or have any questions, please contact our Garden Program Assistant Gabriel. We hope you’ll consider joining us for our community workday. Aloha!
