Join us on APRIL 11!
We will be hosting a community volunteer workday at the garden as we give thanks for all the rain and enter the last quarter of school.
If you are able, please join the Mālaʻai 'ohana on
Saturday, April 11th, 2026; 9am @ Waimea Middle School!
Because of safety restrictions and to best prepare for our workdays, please RSVP at least 48 hours before the event.
Families welcome! (However it’s helpful for us to know ages of any keiki, so we can prepare age appropriate activities!)
Our workdays start at 9:00am and go until about Noon. We always provide a light lunch and snacks for volunteers (feel free to bring something to share!). We also provide water and usually a garden fresh tea or beverage. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies please let us know.
This month we will work from 9-11, do our cooking demonstration 11-12, and enjoy lunch directly after. Feel free to come and go as needed.
Appropriate clothing would be something comfortable that can get dirty or stained. We recommend long sleeves and long pants because it can be very sunny in the garden. A hat is always recommended as are closed-toe shoes. We provide gloves, but if you have your own pair feel free to bring them.
If you have any questions, please contact our Garden Program Assistant Gabriel. We hope you’ll consider joining us for our community workday. Aloha!
