Healthy soil is the key to successful gardens and farms.

The invasion of Hawai‘i by insects, disease-causing organisms, weeds, and other plant and animal pests is the single-greatest threat to Hawai‘i’s economy and natural environment and to the health and lifestyle of Hawai‘i’s people.

FOOD SAFETY GUIDELINES
School gardens serve as exciting learning laboratories and are an important component of farm-to-school programs. The produce grown will be eaten and shared with students, their families, and the community. Basic food safety guidelines are important to follow for everyone who works in a school garden with students.
