Sunday Brunch in the Garden featuring Les Dames d'Escoffier

A farm-to-table brunch you don’t want to miss!

Join Māla‘ai and Les Dames d'Escoffier for a deliciously local brunch buffet surrounded by the beauty of the Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School. Featuring a specialty garden mocktail and dishes prepared by some of the most talented and renowned female culinarians on our island, give all your senses a treat with this unique dining experience where proceeds will benefit Māla‘ai’s educational programming.

Māla‘ai is honored to be partnering with Les Dames d’Escoffier (LDEI). LDEI is a worldwide organization of women dedicated to creating a culture in the community that fosters excellence and promotes the achievement of women in culinary professions through educational and charitable activities. They remain dedicated in their support of women through scholarships, educational programs, externships and networking. Learn more about the Hawai'i Chapter here - https://www.ldeihawaii.org/.

Māla‘ai cultivates the relationship between students and the land through growing and sharing nourishing food in our outdoor living classroom. Our work reaches beyond the boundaries of our garden connecting land stewardship, culture, health and pleasure with lifelong learning.

LDEI was founded in New York in 1976 by Carol Brock, a food reporter for the New York Daily News. At the time, there were few opportunities for women in the culinary arts, and there were no prominent women chefs or sommeliers. Brock saw a need to create an organization of professional leading women in the industry who would serve as role models and mentors to others. From its inception, the organization has been a membership-by-invitation, philanthropic organization that has provided education, networking opportunities and scholarship support.
